on songwriting…
“it really depends i guess. usually i like to have a certain thing to talk about. because usually it’s like depending what the song is about, that kinda decides what the melody’s gonna sound like and what the whole feel of the song’s gonna be. because the melody has to fit what the song’s talking about, it’s a way of telling the story, because sometimes music doesn’t even need any words.”

which song would he sing if he could only sing one more song?
“if i had to pick one of the songs i wrote — one of the songs that means a lot to me is on the preorder of the album, on itunes, and that was called ‘somebody out there.’ and that’s just a song that’s really personal to me and really close to my heart.”

on if he’ll play guitar on tour…
“will you get to hear me play guitar — uh, i dunno, i think i need a little more confidence in my guitar-playing. but, um, it’s something i definitely would want to get more into. i play a few songs on the guitar, but i don’t know if it’s quite up to the quality that i want to have on tour. but it’d be cool, someday. but, i mean, i have a few songs i might be ok with playing, but i dunno, i still feel a little nervous about that.”
