David Archuleta sang the national anthem at the Pro Bowl on Sunday, capping a pretty big week for the Season 7 runner-up. (It’s posted after the break.) Makes it look effortless, doesn’t he?

Earlier in the week, his self-titled debut album was certified gold. Then on Saturday, he made his acting on the popular Nickelodeon show iCarly. (You can see a clip from the show here. I’m sure there will be re-runs on Nick as well.)

That’s not all. His first single, “Crush,” blew up on the radio. It rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart has sold more than 1.5 million digital downloads. I think his catchy new single, “A Little Too Not Over You,” could be just as huge.

Oh yeah, Little David’s going on tour later this month, too. I’d say he’s well on his way to becoming the most successful runner-up in American Idol history. I guess since his biggest competition is Clay Aiken, that’s not saying a whole lot, but he still deserves kudos. It couldn’t happen to a nicer kid.
