Do U still remember Sandy- the dedicated Archie who gave out 20 copies of ALTNOY mp3 and another 20 ALTNOY music videos. She attended Pomona concert last night and loves to share her story with us.
It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles on March 17, 2009 the date of David Archuleta’s Concert. Glass House is located in a historical old town 40 miles east of Los Angeles Downtown. We arrived at Glass House at 2:50 P.M. two hours earlier than what we planned but the line had already extended over a block. It was very much in order. People had folding chairs or blankets prepared. They played cards, they chat and they ate on the sidewalk. It looked just like a spring outdoor party. But where were the teens? No teens? No, they flocked in after school around 3:30.
We got into the venue around 7:00. People ran to get a good spot. I ended up on the third row to the left of the stage managing to find a hole between heads. The venue was flooded. By the time David got on the stage at 9:00, we were packed like sardines and there were a lot of pushing and squeezing. I lost my hole and my sister. A lady was very kind, she allowed me move in front of her. So I moved into 2nd row with a very good view. A couple of times, I got face to face with David. I couldn’t thank her enough for it.
David opened his show with Touch my hand, such a good choice. People got high immediately. Many hands were waving on the air wanting to get touched by David. The show had a strong start.
He asked us if we had worn any green for St Patrick’s Day. Of cause, didn’t you told us to in your vblog?
David sang 16 songs tonight. Touch my hand, Barriers, My hands, SOT, Don’t let go, You can, Zero gravity, To be with you, ALTNOY, Works for me, Waiting for yesterday, Medley, Como La Flor, Crush, 1000 miles, Angeles (not in order). Basically, every 2 or 3 rock or pop songs, he had a ballad.
David jumped and bounced around all over the stage with Touch my hand, my hands, Don’t let go, Zero gravity, Works for me. Boy!! Fans are insane!! My eardrums explored. But David’s voice still clearly reached everyone’s ears. What an amazing power!
I didn’t care for SOT that much before but David’s live performance gave the song a new lift. It was effortlessly building up to where it should be. Time was frozen at that moment and I was hopping it’d never end. It became one of my favor songs now. He gave the so much life a song. Just a great artist can do.
I readied myself for my two favor songs, You can and To be with you. He didn’t disappoint us. They were perfect. They were beyond words. He pulled his high notes long and strong. I was dying for more.
Como La Flor was longer than last performance. Spanish audience went crazy!
He played piano for To be with you, love story, 1000 miles and Angles. You just never got tired with this combination.
Rest of songs was awesome as usual.
Before we realized, the show ended. It went so fast!! You just hungered for more.
We waited after the show, even though the security guards and polices kept telling us David will not come out and wanted us to leave. David did show up to meet us after hour and a half. I was first on the line and got his autograph on my CD. Day was ended with a perfect touch!!
Thank you so much, Sandy! After reading your story, I had a feeling that I myself was there, enjoying the time of my life.
