Last week was truly amazing for me.
I arrived at LCCT at about 1.30 p.m on 8th April 2009, the same day David Archuleta landed in Malaysia. We, my younger sister and I, decided to meet up with other Archies at KLIA and join the welcoming party. Though we had to wait for a long long time, nearly 7 hours, we had so much fun together with other Archies, screaming for just David’s arrival announcement on the information board, or screaming for nothing when we reckon a handsome guy coming out was David, haha, and I have to say this happened so many times.
Many people smiled looking at us holding the banner for David (which talented Zaren from Singapore made for us) and they were very surprised when we told them we came from Vietnam to see David Archuleta.
Finally, David came out. The thing is I didn’t have the chance to see David because he was surrounded by fans and securities. And I had to take care of our luggage. Dang it! 7 hours waiting for him and didn’t see him.
Anyway, my sister took a good video of David and I’ve kept watching it again and again to recall my fangirlness at that time.
On the day of David’s showcase, Sat. 11th April, we met up with many Archies at Sunway College and joined pre-showcase gathering. We were so happy to be told by Kylie- AAM’s admin. that our showcase passes turned out to be VIP passes, that meant our seats were guaranteed at the front row in the centre.
We walked to Sunway Lagoon Amphitheatre to be ready for the showcase. After 3 Malaysian singers’s performances, David came out, the whole Amphitheatre immediately exploded with cheering, screaming, and lots of tears as well. He sang straight ALTNOY w/o doing the banter, and then 5 other songs.
I don’t think that I can describe the heavenly experience of seeing David live. He was so good, working the stage. I love his moving around the stage connecting with the audience (we screamed like crazy anytime he moved to other sides of the stage reaching out his hand to us). Honestly, I was totally/perfectly mesmerized by his beautiful smiles and passionate moves.
You have to listen to him live to witness that by yourself. The performance ended so fast without notice!
Then we were told that we were going to meet David in person and have his autograph. We stood in a queue and one by one, met David and tried to talk to him as much as possible. When it was my turn, I suddenly blacked out and didn’t know what I was talking about, just trying to move my lips.
He was there, directly in front of me, shining like the moon on its fullest day and like the sun on its mildest day. Now I understand that why all people who met David always talked about the aura and serenity around David. It’s complete true, my friends, and you have to see him to witness this miracle. And believe me, I’m not a teen but a woman, and never tell lies.
So my dream of meeting David became true, but I didn’t have the courage to look directly at his face or his eyes. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to let go the feeling many weeks later on. All that I managed to say to him is: “David, I brought to you a lot of letters, postcards and gifts from Vietnamese Archies…” I don’t know if I just murmured or spoke out, but David had to pardon me. My meeting with David also ended so fast, for only about 30 secs. I even didn’t have the chance to say “David, pls come to Vietnam soon” which Vietnamese Archies recommend me to say.
Also, I didn’t say “I love you” to David. But David had his arm on my shoulder.

So, there’re so many regrets at a life-time opportunity.
That’s why I need to /have to/ will see David again.
Finally, I can’t thank you enough, Archuleta Avenue Malaysia’s angels- Kylie, Anne, John, Lily and Justine, for giving me valuable VIP passes, thus making my dream of meeting David come true, and everything you all did to unite us, including international Archies.
To Kitty, Alex, Tracy, Dora, Yanita, and Adelyn, thank you so much for your help to make my journey in Kuala Lumpur an unforgetable experience. You are so nice, kind-hearted and adorable.
To Larissa, Wincy, Steven, Chee Seng, and Anugrah, I finally met you- dedicated Archies who I always longed to meet. Thank you for being great fans of David.
To all other Archies, thank you for making my 1st experience of enjoying a live performance a memorable one which I’ll cherish for life.
Huong,

Dearest Huong and Hien,
Glad that you and your sister have arrived in Vietnam safely. Hope you and your sister enjoyed your stay in Malaysia. Also, hope you girls had a blast before, during, and after the showcase. Come back again to Malaysia if David come back for a full concert. We, the AAMers are glad to help you out.

Hi Abrra,
I thank you so much for visiting my fansite. Your positive comment really encouraged me a lot in keeping trying harder to support David Archuleta.

LOL.
P/S: I am really touched to see my name on the thank you list.
Hi, Huong, Beautiful article! I had exact experience with David in person. I was stunned and havemumbled some nonsense. I wished I could have said something more joyful but I guess next time I’ll do the same thing. hahaha
Dear Sandy,
I always ask myself that why I can love David crazy like I do now. I’m not a teen any more, and had never ever been a real fan of an artist before David. So I guess David is an angel, not a human being.
WOW, it’s so surprising, I’ve thought that it was ur normal trip!!! u should’ve been sleepless for few nights b4 meeting David, huh?
) Both of u r so lucky, maybe u r the 2 first VNese to see David in person ^^
Hi,
Yeah, I had to use sleeping pills for 2 weeks b4 meeting David, but it wasn’t because of him but I had bronchitis and had to take a long and deep rest. haha
No, we’re not. I’m sure there’s 1 person name Chau already met David during AI Summer Tour 2008.
Hi . . . Hi . . . Huong?!
You’re so luck that ya can meet Dave! Do ya know where will Dave perform in Asean? Will he come to Indonesia? Thank for all. I love David Archuleta and i love your blog. See ya . .
Hi Retno,
An Indonesian Archie said that David might come to Indonesia for a concert at the end of this year. I do hope so.
It’s my hope and my plan to go Indonesia to watch and, if possible, meet David again in person.
Hi Huong,
You look sooo much diffrennt with david. On april david came to Kuala Lumpur rite? My dad doesn’t let me to go and meet david. I really hope that you can tell david to come to Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur again. I really hope that I and him we can get pictures and have his autograph. Can we please tell him to come to Malaysia again? I really hope that he will come again.
Kah Wai
Hi,
I must say that I even couldn’t tell him to come to Vietnam, because I’m from Vietnam. I flied to Malaysia just to see David. Yeah, I was so lucky to meet him in person, but it seemed that David was spacing out when he concentrated on signing the poster for me. So I’m not so sure if he heard what I said. Hope that I can meet him again soon.
oh my !! you so luckies. I really want to be like you
wow, i’m so jealous with you, Huong! You went to see David, that was very cool, i wish i could go with you. But i’m just 14 years old and i’m can’t go abroad, that’s a shame..^^ I always love David Archuleta, he is my hero. After i read your amazing story, i realize that meeting David isn’t easy. Well, LOL, i will save money from now on to meet David.
Hi Alex Vo,
You’ll meet David one day. Dream big and your dream will come true.
I’d never ever thought that I would meet David in person some day, but everything happened so fast, my decision to fly to Malaysia to see him turned out to be a one of the best ones in my life. Meeting him is a life-time experience.
And I’ll try my best to have a chance of touching his hand which I couldn’t because of David’s Malaysian handles’ strict rules. grrrrrr
wow, i’m so jealous with you Huong!!! You were so lucky, i hope i can see David too. I love him so much, if you see him again, tell him that all the fans in Viet Nam wish to see him…. In your story, you wrote that you couldn’t tell him to come to Viet Nam, right? Ok, see you later. ^^
