OK, this is spoiler so if you don’t like to read it before you touch the book, just ignore this post.
“I actually think I would’ve felt horrible if I had won, because I deeply felt that David Cook was the one who deserved it. Here was this amazing singer and all-around musician, someone I really looked up to and admired not just for his music side, but also as a person. I really respected him and the way he acted throughout the whole time we were together; I have to be honest and say that he was the person who, in my view, showed better than anyone else in the season that he should win. I was genuinely happy for him. And to top it all off, the first thing he said to me after he won was, “Love ya, bud. Thanks for being so awesome.” I could not believe it. That’s exactly what a winner should be, I thought. He showed such maturity in the way he treated me and everyone else on the show. He still treats me with so much respect, and to this day, I am proud of and happy for him for achieving all the success he has experienced.”

Via @sky12345. Thanks, Frogcooke for posting.

Hi Huong! I didn’t see where Frogcooke posted that so thanks! It’s lovely
I remember David saying in an interview once that after he won Star Search he was crying backstage because he thought the girl should have won. The girl was crying, David was crying, their handler started crying.
David is such a kind, gracious person. Heartwarming to see in this day and age.
I must say I was shocked when David C. won American Idol. But….our David was happy for David C. What a guy!!!! Nobody can ever take David A’s place in being a great preformer. He is a special young man. I saw it the first time I saw him on American Idol. From an Archie Fan from San Diego, and thankfully not L.A.
I’m not so sure if I was shocked. But I’m sure I couldn’t concentrate on anything on that day and some days later. All I thought of was David Archuleta.
I think that Archie also shows his maturity by writing these lines abt David Cook.
