What happened to Iraheta and Archuleta?

Several things in common: both are Americans and descendants of American parents, went on “American Idol” at the minimum age permitted, 16 years old; they made an impact with the husky tone of their voices, and despite not winning the competition, both were immediately signed to contracts to record their first album. Also, both Allison Iraheta and David Archuleta speak Spanish — she more than him — and after 20 minutes on the phone with them, you can say, or at least tell, that the two youngsters are mature, sweet, adorable and quite sure of what they want.

Fans of the reality show “American Idol”, especially those who watched the seventh season, cannot forget the grand finale of the Davids: David Archuleta vs. David Cook. To the surprise of many, the verdict favored Cook, but that night Archuleta not only went home with 44% of the votes, but also with a cornucopia of opportunities.
