Broken là bài hát mới sáng tác duy nhất nằm trong album thứ 5 Begin gồm hầu hết những bản cover của David Archuleta. Album được phát hành trong tháng 8, trước khi David lên đường thực hiện nhiệm vụ truyền giáo. Fan hâm mộ của “hoàng tử bé” có thể tìm thấy giai điệu sâu lắng, yên bình, và giàu ý nghĩa thường thấy của âm nhạc David qua bài hát này.

David Archuleta là ca sĩ người Mỹ thuộc thế hệ 9X, dành giải á quân cuộc thi American Idol mùa thứ 7 khi chỉ mới 17 tuổi. Năm 2011 Archuleta đã hoàn toàn chinh phục khán giả Việt Nam bằng khả năng hát live xuất sắc và nụ cười tỏa nắng khi đến biểu diễn ở Hà Nội và TP.HCM.
