This is a snippet of ‘Nandito Ako’ from the interview with David on set this noon:
BalitaangTapat Live interview:
If you haven’t known this yet, David Archulera plays Josh Bradley in the TV5′s series Nandito Ako.
MANILA, Philippines – For an internationally acclaimed singer, David Archuleta had to deal with “nerves” in hurdling his first shooting day as a television actor.
The former American Idol sensation, however, said he was pleased with the outcome of the first shooting day, and said he was having a grand time with his co-stars– TV5 princesses Jasmin Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero–in the upcoming mini-serye “Nandito Ako.”
Asked to rate his acting experience, David said, “it would be something I would love to work on more because it would be something that I’d like to do. I wanna get better at it.”
He also enjoyed recording the old OPM song, “Nandito Ako,” used as the theme song of the series that bears its title.
Not surprisingly, David said of his recording of the Tagalog song, “it wasn’t as challenging as I thought it would be,” and humored interviewers with a “sample” by singing the opening line of the song.
Singing “There’s Somethin’ ‘Bout Love” with David Archuleta in the hotel room! well.. he only sang a few lines even though i told him to sing with me. haha! but it was such an honor to be able to share my talent with him.
THANKS DAVID ARCHULETA! you’re an awesome singer, and now, even an actor! keep it up, and goodluck with your mini series! yeahhhh!
to everyone asking how i got to meet him, this is how:

Cristy: But I’m wondering whose name would be romantically linked to him more, Jas or Eula
Ruffa: They’re both very excited and treat David more as an Idol, so I don’t think either would be linked to him
Cristy: Just like what Eula said, I used to only see him on TV and now he’s here and I’d even be working with him
Zoren: And his aura is really good; he has this really, wholesome image
Cristy: And the Pinoy audience is so ready to accept him because he’s so nice.

The show’s gist: David plays a Fil-Am singer who was separated from his Pinay mom at the age of 5 because of a hotel fire. During the same fire, he rescued a young girl. Tune in to find out what happened to his mom and who the young girl is: Jasmine’s character or Eula’s?
On his first starring role. “Even though I may not be a pro actor, I feel like it would be a really great new experience to try, especially here in the Philippines because I feel very comfortable with the people here.”
On his first acting lessons. “I think that sometimes, people could get caught up just reading lines. My acting coach helped me focus on how I could relate to my character. For the most part, the character I’m playing is very much me, which is nice, but there are parts where you have to play pretend… I really enjoyed it; it was fun for me.”
On Jasmine and Eula. “I got to talk to them for a little bit when I got here this morning. They were very nice. I look forward to working with them.”
On the first thing he wants to check off his bucket list this year. “I want to finish writing more songs before I go on my mission. That’s one of my New Year’s resolutions. I have plenty of other things on my bucket list like go skydiving, scuba diving, swimming with sharks, bungee jumping, riding a hot air balloon, and learning how to drive a stick shift—I’ve tried but I want to be really good, good enough to go on the freeway.”
